2 Minnesota residents killed in tragic motorcycle accident

It was a relatively clear and warm afternoon when two Minnesota residents decided to take a motorcycle ride. They were on a trip out west and on an early evening ride when tragic and devastating events unfolded.

According to reports, the two were riding on a motorcycle together when an oncoming car drifted across the centerline on the highway. The car smashed into the motorcycle and killed the two passengers. The motorcycle driver was a 64-year-old man and his passenger was a 49-year-old woman. Minnesotans may have heard about this horrific crash and are wondering what may have happened.

Early reports are light on details, which is not uncommon in these situations. Authorities are likely investigating the accident and are looking into the contributing factors. But what is known is that a 25-year-old woman was driving the car that crossed into oncoming traffic. The car smashed into the motorcycle and the impact was so severe that a fire erupted, burning a quarter-acre of land near the road.

In these situations, friends and family members are often very distraught and want answers as to what caused a fatal accident. Was a driver impaired? Was he or she distracted? Did a reckless driver get behind the wheel without having a valid license? Could the accident have been prevented?

Answers to these questions are generally not available right away. Authorities often go through steps to test drivers for drug or alcohol impairment and they often reconstruct the accident to determine what exactly went wrong. In many cases, witnesses to the crash are also interviewed. Once these tasks have been completed, authorities are likely able to figure out what went wrong and identify who was to blame for the accident.

But this can be a very difficult and lengthy process, especially for loved ones who are anxious to take action against the person responsible for a crash. Many times, people who have lost loved ones in motorcycle accidents like this one seek the advice and support of an attorney who can look out of their best interests during an investigation and make sure they get the answers, and compensation, they deserve.
