Vehicle recalls are usually issued after a manufacturer and/or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identifies a defect that poses a safety risk or fails to meet federal standards. When acted upon promptly, recalls can save lives.

Many automaker websites offer similar search tools, and your dealership can also assist.
If your vehicle is under recall, contact an authorized dealership immediately. Recall repairs are performed at no cost to you, as manufacturers are required by law to fix these safety issues. Delaying recall repairs puts you, your passengers and others at risk of injury or death.
Sometimes drivers ignore recall notices, assuming the problem is minor or that they will handle it later. This can be a dangerous mistake.
